The
Trimex Company was started in
1990 to develop and market the invention of Walter VanWinckel.
Mr. VanWinckel’s liquid mask for window glass is the subject of
US and foreign patents.

After
proving out the commercial worth of the liquid mask for window painting, the
Trimex Company licensed the 3M Company
to exclusively make and sell the liquid mask.
The Trimex Company made the liquid mask until 3M took over manufacture in
1997. The 3M Company sold the
liquid mask under the name -3M LIQUID
MASK™. The 3M Company discontinued its license in 2002.
The
Trimex Company resumed its manufacture and sale of the liquid mask under the
trademark – TRIMEX WINDOW MASK ™.
The liquid mask was featured on the television show HOMETIME
™under its original name - TRIMEX WINDOW PRIMER ™ which emphasized its
additional use as a primer.
